Position: Registered Nurse

Department:  General Cardiology Clinic

Status:  Casual

Hours:  Monday to Friday - 7.5 hour days (0800 - 1600) *Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.

Site:  Oakville

This is what you’ll be doing:

To work as a facilitator for testing:  starting IV's, preparing medications, performing ECGs, facilitating in emergency situations, supervising some tests, monitoring recovery of patients post procedures. Supervises technical staff and directs the workflow in order to facilitate tests, breaks and other departmental work.

This is what you’ll need to do it:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS certification required at time of hire
  • Critical Care Course or advanced skill training required
  • Certification in advanced arrhythmias, life-saving drugs, defibrillation, IV's and ECGs
  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience with cardiac patients in an acute care setting required
  • Experience working in an ER or ICU setting required
  • Must be able to work well under stressful conditions
  • Highly motivated
  • Demonstrated initiative and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Must be able to handle a busy work environment
  • Experienced in urgent situations requiring life-saving actions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Physically able to do job
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance record

Salary:  $32.21 to $46.11 per hour
