Position: Registered Practical Nurse

Department: Complex Transitional Care - Rehabilitation and Geriatrics Unit

Status: Temporary Full-time for approx. 6 months

Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various 8 & 12 hour rotating shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

This is what you’ll be doing:

You'll be delivering complete nursing care to patients on a Complex Trasitional Care Unit.

This is what you’ll need to do it:

Halton Healthcare is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; effective communicators; team players; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible.

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS certification required at time of hire
  • Medication administration certification and experience
  • Experience working with and advocating for the elderly
  • Knowledge and ability to complete physical head to toe assessments
  • Experience with skin and wound care
  • Experience with enteral feeds
  • Maintenance of IV lines
  • Experience with electronic documentation
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

Salary: $23.48 to $29.35 per hour
