Status:  Permanent Full-time

Hours: Monday – Friday 7.5 hour Days (occasional evenings as needed)

Site:  Oakville

The Oakville Hospital Foundation raises funds for the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital site of Halton Healthcare. By developing a cycle of engagement and re-engagement across all donor, staff, physician and volunteer constituencies, through the use of impactful storytelling and meaningful stewardship activities we will set the stage to partner with our community to contribute $10 million annually for OTMH’s essential equipment needs, ultimately enabling high quality patient care.

Oakville Hospital Foundation is currently seeking an experienced fundraising professional to join its development team.

As a Senior Development Officer, you will build and nurture meaningful relationships with donors and prospective donors in the community to help raise awareness and advance the Foundation’s fundraising priorities.

This is what you’ll be doing:

  • In association with the development team, participate in the development and implementation of strategies to identify, research, cultivate, solicit and close qualified prospects for major gifts with a focus on gifts ranging from $10,000 to $100,000
  • Actively seeks out new major gift, corporate and community donor prospects
  • Establish and build relationships with individual, foundation and corporate prospects and donors including arranging and participating in in-person visits, arranging visits to hospital, and invitations to cultivation events
  • Manage assigned volunteer solicitors as their staff liaison, providing ongoing support as required
  • Develop a business plan and budget for your portfolio of donors and participate in the development of the team’s overall plans and budgets, measuring results against expected outcomes
  • Identify prospect research needs and collaborate with staff to qualify donors
  • Prepare portfolio and financial dashboards; track progress for senior management and volunteers
  • Strategically involve members of Foundation and Hospital Senior Team, Physicians, Staff and volunteers to develop relationships and fulfill meaningful stewardship activities
  • Work in close collaboration with the Donor Recognition & Naming Opportunities staff lead

This is what you’ll need to do it:

  • Proven track record as an accomplished professional with a minimum of three to five years' experience in major gift fundraising
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and positive attitude compliment your commitment to achieving performance metrics.
  • Manage competing priorities and multiple tasks while maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive approach to work and capable of working with minimal supervision
